GATE 2020 Exam: As the exam name suggests, GATE is an entrance exam for graduate aspirants. The reviews grant a Ph.D. entry for a master of an engineering program. GATE 2020 Exam Application Steps

IIT Delhi posts the application form on its official page every August. Therefore, applicants can easily access it for application purposes. All applicants must follow the steps below to complete the process. These are;

Registering for the exam; Before any applicant proceeds to the online application, he or she must first register to notify the organizing body. To register, an applicant must submit their email, phone number, and their official names. Additionally, the applicants need also to choose a secure password.

Filling of the application form; The second step involves the filling up of the GATE application form. Applicants can access the application form from IIT Delhi’s official page. Some of the required details include personal information, academic information, as well as contact details. The applicant must also select an exam center as well as the exam they’re have applied. 

Uploading of the photograph; The third step involves the uploading of a clear passport-sized picture. That’s not all; the applicant also has to send scanned files of the previous level certificates. One must ensure they use the same format to save all the documents.

Paying of application fee; Just like other entrance exams, an aspirant must part with a stipulated application fee for their application to be processed. The application fee varies depending on the applicant’s gender, as well as his or her category. Male aspirants pay INR.1500 while their Female counterpart coughs up INR.750.

The only acceptable modes of payment are credit cards, debit cards, and net banking. IIT Delhi rejects any application where the applicants fail to pay the fee.

GATE 2020 Exam: Admit Card

The IIT Delhi issues an admit card to all successful applicants. However, the aspirants need to download the admit card from their accounts. The aspirants must print the cards and carry them when coming for the exam. The admit card helps to prove one’s identity to the invigilators. The aspirants must also have additional documents for verification purposes. 

If an aspirant does not receive the admit card link, it’s a sign that their application was unsuccessful. Aspirants must provide factual information to increase the chances of succeeding. The admit card contains crucial details such as the Enrolment ID, Photograph, Exam Type, among others.

GATE 2020 Exam Structure

The entrance exam consists of a total of sixty-five questions. Each of these questions has different marks assigned to them. The entire review has a total of one hundred marks. The exam comprises of both multiple-choice questions and the numerical answer questions. Additionally, the exam is sub-divided into several sections, where each section deals with specific topics. 

The GATE has a total duration of 3 hours. Aspirants must attempt all the sixty-five questions. The unique about the test is that it tolerates negative marking for every wrong answer given.

GATE 2020 Exam Results

Usually, the organizing body releases the entrance exam results in March, every year. Aspirants can only access their exam results from their respective accounts. An aspirant needs their login credentials, such as the Email or the Enrolment ID, and the Password to access the scorecard. Aspirants are free to download and print the scorecard for future reference if they so wish. Some of the details included in the results are the aspirants’ official names, their actual score, enrolment ID, their signature, and their photograph.
