IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) offers regarding 228 certificate, diploma, degree and doctorial programs. At UG level the University also offers B.Sc in Post Basic Nursing. The course duration of B.Sc within the Post Basic Nursing program is three years and includes a seat intake of 650 in IGNOU Regional Centres.

IGNOU B.Sc Nursing Admission 2020

The OPENNET exam for Post Basic Nursing conducted by IGNOU. there are 120 multiple-choice questions (each has one mark) from various subjects as per syllabus.

The admission will be conducted once a year for an in-service nurse. The application form can be submitted online & offline. The application will be downloaded from www.ignou.ac.in or got from IGNOU regional centre directly or by post and submitted before the last date of submission with Rs 1210 of demand draft.

  • The duration of OPENNET exam for Post Nursing will be 2:30 hrs.

  • The Application form fees is 1200/- INR
  • Selection of the candidate/student for Post Basic Nursing course will be by OPENNET entrance exam

IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Program Structure

The Post Basic Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a 3 year Degree programme. This course has 2 major components: theory and practicals. it’s divided into twenty-two courses; eleven theory and eleven practical.

Note: All the courses are compulsory. 1 Credit = 30 Study hours or 30 learning hours = one Credit.

IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course Eligibility

For the admission of the B.Sc Nursing course, there is no minimum and maximum age bar limit. This means no age bar limit.

Education Qualification:

Candidate has passed 10+2 from a recognized institute with 3 yrs Diploma in General Nursing(for RNRM) & Midwifery with min 2 yrs experience. (For male nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM programme, should have a certificate in any of the Nursing courses of 6-9 months duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery)                                         OR

Candidate has 10th(Matric) passed or its equivalent with 3 yrs Diploma in General Nursing(for RNRM) and Midwifery(GNM) with 5 yrs experience minimum in the profession. (For males nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM programme, should have a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 months duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery).

IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Admission Procedure

  • Application form for Post Basic B.Sc Nursing for 2020 will be submitted online and offline both medium. The admission procedure is given below:
  • Candidates can download the form and submitted the form at any regional centres where the Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Programme established will do the counseling admission.
  • The application form will be processed ar regional centres concerned and complete data including all details will be transferred to Student Evaluation Division, Block 12, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068
  • The application form cost will be 1200 Rs. at the sales counter of regional centres.
  • If the entrance form or application form will be downloaded then make a demand draft of 1210 Rs and submitted along with application form at the respective counter.

IGNOU B.Sc Nursing Programme  Fees: If you will be selected then 1st-year admission fees is Rs. 18,000/per annum- (it may vary from time to time)

  • Valid RNRM Registration Certificate
