The NCERT will conduct a national assessment survey (NAS) in government and private institutions/schools to observe the children’s learning skills. The survey will soon complete by the National Council of Educational Research and Training, covering more than 700 districts. It will cap lakhs of children to discover those learning skills and changes required after the post-covid 19 effect.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed that a survey will be held in November, although dates are yet to be announced. The focus subjects for which learning capability will be judged are Science, Maths, EVS etc.
The National Sample Survey (NSS) was conducted four years ago, on November 13, 2017, and covered around 23 lakh students from classes 3, 5 and 8. Later, on February 5, 2018, it was executed for class 10th.
There is another vital initiation that NCERT follows where it offers counselling to those mentally concerned students who are aiming to begin their schooling after the covid-19 peak. There are numerous channels that NCERT experts will use to interact with students of 6th to 11th. The experts will help the students connect online and make them strong enough to deal with mental and social concerns.
NCERT said, “ We wish to help the learners in order to face the challenges that might come due to covid-19”. Students from classes 6 and 11 may connect to the NCERT officials through Youtube Channel or PM eVidya DTH TV channel. These two options will assist the learners in their mental and social concerns. Students may interact live every Friday with the experts by calling toll free numbers 8800440559, 8448440632.
