Earlier known by the name of Mughalpura Engineering College which was set up in Lahore in 1921 is now set up in Punjab, Chandigarh as the Punjab Engineering College which is deemed to be university since 1953. The university gives out 31 specializations in three main courses, there are eight of these under B. Tech course, while 12 specializations can be chosen from in the M.Tech course and 11 specializations are accessible for the Ph.D. course.
Aspirants admission to the Ph.D. course are done on the basis of the entrance exam held by the university followed by the PI. Formerly known as the PEC University of Technology Admission, PEC Tech is an engineering university in Punjab Chandigarh. Applicants must complete an H.S.C. course in science to obtain a master’s degree in B.Tech and P.G. related subjects. Admission is based on a national-level entrance exam, JEE Mains by B.E.E. and GATE by M.Tech. For doctoral programs, the university performs written tests and interviews.

PEC University UG & PG Courses Eligibility Criteria:
SC/ST candidates are relaxed by 10% on the qualification exam.
Applicants must participate in at least five Category 12 courses.
During the test 10+ two organized in March / April, if a candidate acquires a compartment, the candidate will not be consulted by J.A.C. even if the chamber is deleted before the consultation.
The candidates for the successful test must obtain a score of at least 60% or a score of 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
Applicants are selected based on the valid GATE score.

PEC offers eight specialized B.Tech programs. The minimum level of education is 102 to 75% or 20% in the secondary examinations carried out by the committee.
Qualified students must participate in intensive consultations at the Chandigarh Engineering and Construction Consulting Center of the Joint Admissions Committee (J.A.C.).
