There is an educational institution known as The Vels Institute of Science, Technology, and Advanced Studies located in the Pallavaram neighborhood of Chennai, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. As a result of its establishment in 1992, as well as the authority granted to it by Section 3 of the UGC Act of 1956, the University Grants Commission has designated this university as a Deemed University in 2008.

The tuition fee for undergraduate courses ranges from INR 2.34 lakhs to INR 2.87 lakhs per year. The tuition fee for postgraduate courses ranges from INR 3.09 lakhs to INR 5.09 lakhs per year. The hostel fee is separate and ranges from INR 60,000 to INR 1.2 lakhs per year. There are also additional fees for books, stationery, and other expenses.
