The Indian government has filed an application allowing Ukrainian students returning to India to continue their studies
The Supreme Court has been served with a PIL seeking directions on the admission and continuation of studies in the country of Indian medical students recently expelled from war-torn Ukraine.
Besides, the Center has been asked to provide an orientation program on medical subject equivalence in order to admit them into the Indian curriculum.
The petition filed by advocate Rana Sandeep Busa and others seeks to enforce the most fundamental right guaranteed under Article 21 – the protection of life and liberty.
A number of petitions have been filed in both the High Courts and the Supreme Court since the start of the war between the US and Russia, urging the Center to direct that Indian medical students returned from Ukraine be allowed to continue their studies in home colleges.
